Scott grew up in the small town of Freeport, Maine. He began playing golf regularly at the age of 12 and quickly found his feel for the game as a junior golfer. Scott captained the Freeport High School golf team since his sophomore year and earned MVP honors each of those three years. At Skidmore College, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Scott honed his talents on the golf team and carded his first collegiate win in 2006 with the score of 3-under par. Scott has been an integral part of the Troon Experience here at St. James since February of 2009. Scott took a 2-year hiatus starting mid-2015 to play on the eGolf and GPro Tours here in North and South Carolina to pursue his life-long dream of playing on the PGA Tour. Since then, Scott has become one of the top assistant players in the Carolinas Section of the PGA of America.
Scott offers a variety of golf instruction and coaching opportunities including group clinics, private and playing lessons as well as multiple day golf schools for those in need of rapid skill acquisition. He is particularly experienced with new technology including video swing analysis and in-depth club, ball and shaft fittings using the JC Video and FlightScope technologies. Scott is certified in using the S.A.M. PuttLab equipment here on property to give putting assessments and putter recommendations based on the student’s stroke.
