The Clubs Golf Academy &
Golf Academy Workshops
Are you a frustrated golfer who constantly practices but is unable to see results on the golf course? Maybe it’s not the practice time but what you are practicing that leads to poor results. Are you one of those golfers with a roller coaster handicap? Maybe all you need is a better understanding of what you do to produce good shots, but, also an understanding to self-correct swing errors.
The Clubs at St. James Golf Academy is offering an exciting series of workshops for all handicap and skill levels. The 3 workshops will focus on full swing fundamentals for woods, hybrids, and iron play. Workshops provide a 4:1 student/teacher ratio, thus allowing for small group and individual attention. The $115 instruction fee covers all 3 workshops, a video swing analysis session, a “Picture the Perfect Swing” manual, and a sleeve of Callaway golf balls.
Workshop 1: Understanding the 3 key elements to a perfect swing, the flight of a golf ball, the neutral grip, and set-up fundamentals.
Workshop 2: Understanding takeaway and backswing fundamentals.
Workshop 3: Understanding the follow-through, as well as being able to self-diagnosis and self-correct any swing errors.

Teaching Approach
Teaching Approach
Each student is taught as an individual with differing abilities to learn and progress. We’ll first establish your pre-swing fundamentals and improve your swing based on ‘Connection’, Golf’s master fundamental. We’ll allow latitude to develop your swing based on your own individual physical attributes and athletic ability. Through video analysis, specially designed drills and the use of training aids, you will learn the fundamentals of the golf swing

Preparation if the Key to Success
Preparation if the Key to Success
The majority of swing errors result from an incorrect pre-swing fundamental. The six pre-swing keys: grip, stance and posture, ball position, aim, mind-set, and tension level. These keys have a direct relationship with the in-swing fundamentals as follows: grip controls the club-face, ball position controls the path, stance and posture controls the ability to coil, aim controls sequence, mind-set controls the ability to change, and tension level controls the ability to swing.
The three key elements to perfecting your swing: circular body rotation - the source of your power which creates and maintains centrifugal force is your torso that rotates in a circular motion to create coiling and uncoiling; an unrestricted hinge – the hinges at the end of your arms (wrists) need to move freely so you will cock and uncock creating leverage; constant forward tilt – your torso remains at a fixed angle to the ground, this spine angle should be maintained throughout the swing.
Progressive Learning
All golfers have at least one major swing flaw. We’ll diagnose and correct the cause of the swing flaw, not the effects of the flaw. The student is then made to understand the swing error and progressive learning techniques are utilized to move the student toward his/her fundamental golf swing.
